Single Twin "Came Home Dead" and the rest of the EP it's on. It's a quietly beautiful project from Marcus Teague (who used to be in a Melbourne band called Deloris).

Justin Bieber! Well, one of his songs slowed down 800%: http://soundcloud.com/shamantis/j-biebz ... 800-slowerIs this kind of thing done on a regular basis and I've just missed it? I think it sounds quite cool, but I can imagine that if it catches on we will soon be inundated with songs by every Disney star given this treatment. But I would love to hear Castaways in this format.

This week has been mostly Quasi - American Gong is a great album for driving along to, with the windows down.

Jason Isbell - Dress Blues Anyone here listen to Drive-By Truckers? I love them, they really have some incredible songwriters as mainstays (Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley), but I think some of their best songs were written by Isbell when he was with the band from Decoration Day through A Blessing and a Curse. Above is just a really moving country song about a wounded veteran. That's not the first time that anyone Truckers-related has covered that topic: see Mama Bake a Pie, That Man I Shot, and The Home Front. All great, powerful songs.

Agree on DBTs and also the point about Isbell. Less keen on the Big To-Do. Although post-Isbell, I thought Brighter than Creation's Dark is their best to date. Tend to prefer the more C 'n' W inflected stuff.
Currently listening to Wire (Send(Ultimate) in particular and waiting for the new Red Barked Trees) and Laura Cantrell, even if they are rather odd bedfellows.

Some concerts I go to have a very lasting effect. You're there and think "Oh yeah, that's good, I like it, nice!" but you're not overwhelmed. Then, the next days, the following days, you think about it and realize... Hey wait... That was freakin' amazing. I'm having that right now with Scout Niblett's gig I went to on Monday at Hamburg's Kampnagel. If you don't know her, check her out, she's kinda really amazing in a very very unique way. Here's her 'Hit', a duet with fantabulous Bonnie 'Prince' Billly: "Kiss" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9cwz12wKD0Her other stuff is sometimes challenging, but at least as amazing, like "Dinosaur Egg": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4TmfG7q_5k... ot "Lullaby for Scout in 10 years": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDrTL-WD95U

I feel like today I will listen to all my (vinyl) albums from 2010. But first, it's Rainer Maria.
