Definitely my most anticipated album of 2011.
Speaking of album releases... maybe Wye Oak should inquire into opening for Radiohead on their next tour. "The King of Limbs, with special guest Wye Oak!"

My favorite album of the year so far, just barely edging out Wye Oak, is P.J. Harvey's Let England Shake. It's a surprisingly listenable album, given that it's one of the most brutal war albums I've heard. Lots of phrases, melodies, and solos that have gotten stuck in my head.

Will listen.
My second-place album of the year is Dirty Projectors' 'Swing Lo Magellan.' Didn't like their earlier stuff, but I love this one. The first four songs and the last song are all among my favorite tracks this year. It's far from a perfect album - it has one stinker ("The Socialites") and one I don't care much for ("See What She Seeing"), but the good songs are strong enough to make up for it somehow.
I can't help but think they would be far better if they stopped including female lead vocals. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of female lead vocalists, but there is so much more depth and shading in the frontman's delivery than in the lead woman's.

Just getting into Shearwater...and loving it!!!
I've been listening to tons of Okkervil River lately. My bro just told me about Great Lakes Swimmers. I'm loving them quite a bit also.
I'm always looking for great indie bands.
