A new Swans album is good news enough, but I know that Thor's just going to kick the shit out of the drums on this one, which makes it all the more exciting!

It can't be possible that we're only 3 people who are excited over this? (I'm counting in Thor as well, I'm somehow assuming that he is excited as well... ) Anyway, the acoustic CD/DVD package will be available any second now for order on http://younggodrecords.com/Releases/Detail.asp?C=2326Actually, I've managed to order it already. I found that the information was up regarding the CD/DVD, I read through it quickly and then I revisited the page some time later to read more in detail. And there it was, the possibility of ordering - so of course I placed my order. And now it's marked as "temporarily unavailable". I suppose they were working on it and I just happened to hit the very few seconds when the ordering link was up. Gira will probably think that I am insane. Which is probably quite accurate.

You may now officially cut out the word "probably" from my last sentence in the above post.
I've amused myself with refreshing that page on the Young God Records site a couple of times (I am currently bored out of my mind, yes...) and it seems that Gira is doing something rather similar to the Golden Dossier project, with different backing options/packages available. Great idea. I hope that it will work out in the same way it did for Shearwater, with lots of backers for the project.

I'm sure that you will recognize at least one of these cheerful lads:

And some more information: the album is called "My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky" according to Young God Records' facebook page, and it will be released on September 14. Can't wait!!
Oh, and I've got my ticket for the Supersonic Festival. I am officially insane.

It was a bit confusing today at http://www.brainwashed.com - they have no less than 4 different reviews of the album - that says something about the importance of it, I guess... The reviews are positive, and the one I like the best is of course the one that talks about "Thor Harris’ fantastic drumming": http://www.brainwashed.com/index.php?op ... &Itemid=96

I have now seen Swans live, last Sunday in Birmingham. It was an amazing show! I'm still hovering a few millimeters above the floor with sheer excitement. I didn't take any pictures or videos or anything, but I suppose some other people did - I'll search youtube for whatever is up there. In the meantime, here are some photos from The Button Factory in Dublin on October 22 (thanks to John Kealy!). I love this one of Thor: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kealyj/511 ... 122979257/

Interview with Michael Gira and some concert video clips (featuring quite a lot of Thor, of course): http://www.rockfeedback.com/tv/direct/c ... 0/1105844/
