Shearwater also have a new home (Sub Pop), and they'll be releasing their next album on the label in early 2012. They released some live recordings and experimental pieces on their bandcamp back in April in honor of the signing.

Barring a Detroit date between Minneapolis and Toronto, I suppose I'll make the trip to Columbus. New album sounds pretty nifty, not that it's any surprise!

Edit: dang, they're opening apparently.

JM said on Facebook that they are planning to tour through 2012. Definitely going to Columbus, but I've been itching to take a Montreal trip for a while.

I have abiding hope that they will make a headlining stop in Detroit, but time will tell, I suppose.

Wait, I'll actually be in Montreal for an academic conference around that date. Might as well stick around a couple extra days!

Wait, SW are opening for Sharon van Etten? I thought last time it was the other way around.

The Cincinnati show (2/15) has been cancelled due to the closure of the awesome venue it was scheduled for.

Shearwater and Sharon van Etten will be doing a show in Grand Rapids, MI instead.

I guess you're all at least as excited as I am for the tour. As I live in Europe, I have to wait a bit more but wohooow, I look forward to seeing them! My plans are to travel to Vienna on 13th April, anyone else planning to see the show at Chelsea there? Would be a pleasure to meet up!

My sister and I are also planning to go see them in Vienna, unless they announce any more shows closer to where we live (we're from Romania).

I feel a bit uneasy not being able to buy the tickets in advance, but I hope it won't be a problem.

It's been a very long time since I've posted on this message board, but I will probably be going to one of the New York dates. If anyone is interested in meeting up PM me! I'd love to meet some more Shearwater fans.
