Great show in San Diego (despite them being exhausted). I even prefer when a band shows their human side a bit during shows. Thanks for the photos coldengrey!
I really wanted to request Home Life, and a second encore, but that would have been asking too much of them I think...

from San Francisco. Set was the same as LA, but Jonathan threw in a solo version of I'm So Glad as per an audience member's request at the beginning of the encore.
By the way, this was probably the best Shearwater gig EVER.

I saw a couple claims to that effect. What made it so special? Good crowd, or...?

jkade, I don't think I can pin it down to any one thing that made the SFO show so special. You kinda had to be there. Maybe I'll be able to articulate it after the tour's over. I'm going to have two days on the train home to reflect and collect my thoughts. At least, that's what I'm hoping is going to be the case.

There will be videos of those forthcoming. And more.
*edit: all the photos from the week in one vulgar belch .

I try. Husky was really good, and they were nice guys too. I would/will definitely see them again. But Gold Leaves, OMG! ♥! I've been listening to The Ornament incessantly since I got home.

Um, so I guess I'm now a contributor at (super-awesome Seattle-based blog) Three Imaginary Girls and you can read what I wrote about the west coast tour .

Well that came as a surprise, Shearwater will play the ICELAND AIRWAVES FESTIVAL 2012! I would have never guessed to see them on Iceland -> so great! On a sidenote: Swans will also play there, so Thor is also on the island...

Does anyone get the newsletter? Because I can never see anything on that one, I always just get a blank white mail... don't know why. And I'd love to know about "SHEARWATER: Fall Tours, "From the Basement", mini album, and more"...

Saw the guys open for Dinosaur Jr. in Santa Ana last night, awesome as per usual. I wish I could've swung Frisco as well, but I'll be at the Seattle show on Friday! Which I'm super effing excited about. Anyway, some and the setlist:
Landscape at Speed Animal Life Dread Sovereign You as You Were Insolence Immaculate Pushing the River Breaking the Yearlings Star of the Age These Days
A couple of videos to follow soon-ish.
