All,
A friend, Libby Mojica, needs a hand confirming a peregrine falcon has died and recovering a transmitter. The bird was part of a reintroduction program in W. Virginia, made its way to the upper TX coast, and has stopped moving somewhere between Beaumont and Houston, suspiciously right along a power line (suspect electrocution). Does anyone know a biologist or birder who might be able to visit the site, confirm the birds condition, and recover the transmitter? If they do they can contact me or Libby directly. She is a biologist in the Center for Conservation Biology at the college of William and Mary in VA. Her contact info is:
