Jonathan is on a short tour with Okkervil, and afterwards he'll be beak-deep in dissertation work for a little while.

Fear not, for we will thereafter commence work on a new record which may put to use instruments not yet invented.

I have a mountain of medium format and 35mm (SW/Mtn Goats) tour pictures to scan in. My new scanner just arrived, and if I can figure out how to bike home with it, you may expect some visual morsels soon enough. I knew I should've gotten the HUGEST messenger bag from Chrome (who I highly recommend, BTW)!

It's gorgeous, Howard! Can't wait to see the others. I adore the holga look.

One. I have about three shirts, two pairs of trousers, and my luggage is a shoulder bag. Jamming econo!

Okay Jonathan, now that one of my two Shearwater wonders are answered, why don't we just get the second question over with. Why are there so many knobs on your guitar?

Is that Thor, drummer of Shearwater's house in that first batch, or the house of Thor, god of Norse mythology? 'Cos I'd lean t'wards the latter. It'd explain all the dogs. All the two dogs, and the look of what I'll squintily interpret as aprehension on Jonathon's face. But not the pretty red flowers.

I've just posted an early version (recorded by Jordan Geiger of Minus Story) of the song 'Palo Santo' to the "sounds" page of the web site, in case anyone's interested.

Re the knobs on my guitar: they're not cosmetic. The guitar is a beloved old Harmony Rocket - one of the best bargains in hollow-body electrics out there, I think. They sound great and are usually pretty cheap compared to Guilds, Gibsons, etc.

Thor is indeed the true Norse god of thunder. Accept no imitations.

Wow - they really don't cost much. If I hadn't spent all my money for the year on the most gorgeous G&L, then I'd have one of those for myself. And most of the stock of myrareguitars.com too...

The trumpet vines spring forth in full bloom from cold, dead wood whenever Jonathan walks by. But that's pretty obvious from the picture.
