Well, I can't watch it, but apparently tonight is the debut of a new song written by Jonathan and Lucas in collaboration with Brian Reitzell, the music director for the show and a fairly prolific score composer.

The Shearwater Facebook page promised a streaming audio version soon. Looks like there will eventually be a link from here. If you record it before the stream is up, I'd love to hear it.

Edit: Kelsey Grammer really creeps me out these days. What a piece of work he turned out to be.

Edit 2: Boo, stream won't be up until Monday.

The construction of the track is very different and very good. I like the production. The melody and guitar is familiar, but not excessively so. The lyrics do rely on some old images, but what I can make out is pretty evocative.

I think it somewhat splits the difference between Arc and AJ Shearwater. I wouldn't at all mind something like this on the next album.

Here's some information about the soundtrack album... which will also feature new music from Mark Hollis. Whoa.

Listening to the Boss soundtrack, which came out today. God, it's dead in here.
Quote:
1. Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down (Boss Remix) (Robert Plant & The Band of Joy)
2. Lizard Dream (Brian Reitzell & Michael James)
3. Who Done It? (Brian Reitzell & Jim James)
4. One Overlord (Brian Reitzell, Jonathan Meiburg & Lucas Oswald)
5. Express (Brian Reitzell, Nicolas Godin & Jean-Benoit Dunckel)
6. Ceiba (Brian Reitzell & Daniel Lopatin)
7. Punishment (interpolating Moonlight Sonata Piano Sonata #14 Mvt. 1) (Brian Reitzell)
8. O' Cordelia (Brian Reitzell & Tim Rutili)
9. Arb Section 1 (Mark Hollis)
10. Tell Me What You Saw (Brian Reitzell & Jim James)
11. The Conversation (Brian Reitzell, Nicolas Godin & Jean-Benoit Dunckel)
12. Falling Pine (Brian Reitzell & Daniel Lopatin)
13. Black Moon (Wilco)
14. Swan Lake Michigan (interpolating Swan Lake) (Brian Reitzell and Paul Buchanan)

Some neat stuff, mostly instrumental or wordless. I am biased, but I think One Overlord is a major highlight. The Mark Hollis track is interesting - I like it, but it sounds surprisingly like indie video game music to me. Too bad they disallowed specific track purchases. The CD will be out in January, I think.
