SW is there, along with your favorite bands from 2005, 2000, 1998, 1996, 1994...

Includes classic mid-90s lineup of Guided by Voices!! Somebody put these sounds together and see if they breed.

I am super-excited by this! TNP! Sonic Youth! Spoon! Guitar Wolf, holy shit! With an unavoidable move on the horizon, there's no way I can afford all three days (it's only a four hour drive even with the Hoover Dam construction but the gas bill still adds up fast), though I'm sure the boss will pity me enough to cut me free for at least one of them.

So I'm wondering -- will everyone play all three days, or is this going to be a couple of bands each day sort of thing? Would like to plan appropriately, yesssssss.

(Oh god, driving in Vegas. And I was complaining about Tucson! A-at least the parking will be easier, haha.)

Arclights, how can you be super-excited and fail to mention the most important part? Guided By Voices :P (I know GBV was mentioned already, but it's the kind of thing that should be repeated!)

It's supposed to be one show a night. I assume that means most bands will play once, but given the line-up I can totally see some "guest appearance" exchanges going on. They'll announce the schedule Monday.

Now. Who's going to drive me to Vegas?

I will also settle for flying in and having someone(s) split hotel costs with me.

Honestly, I was so stunned by Guitar Wolf being on that ticket (and the fact that this is within easy driving distance) that my mind went into this spastic flopping white kid dance and just about everything was drowned out in the internal hell yeah!s. A totally plebian response, maybe, but I stand by it. :3

Oh I'm sure there'll be plenty of those -- I hope some enterprising citizen gets plenty of footage -- but that makes it a bit easier for me to pick which day is the magical day. Thank you for letting me know!

(Wish I could help you out with that one, but I doubt you'll be coming from the Phoenix area. :<)

Well, if everything goes right I might be able to make this show. I'll be coming from San Diego if I go. I'm not sure if that fits into anyone's plans...

Can't wait to get all the info on this show. That's right on the edge of when my school starts...

Here's the latest information:

Tickets for “The Lost Weekend” aka Matador’s 21st birthday celebrations at The Palms will go on sale this Friday morning at 9am, PST. Here’s the details you’ve been hassling all of us about over the last week (and don’t think we don’t appreciate it)

a) Price : An initial quantity will be on sales Friday for $199.00. This is for all 3 nights. We’re not selling tickets for the individual nights. After the $199.00 tickets sell out, the price increases to $225. A Ticketfly link will be posted on this site on Thursday, July 8th.

B) VIP ticket. A limited number of VIP packages will be available at $399.00 — details about what you’ll get for the $399 are forthcoming. You’ll have the ability to upgrade from the regular tickets, assuming the VIP tickets aren’t sold out.

C) Venue. The room in question is the 2100 seat Pearl at the Palms.

D) Rooms at the Palms. Starting Friday, you’ll have the opportunity to reserve standard rooms at the Palms for the discounted rate of $99 per night (the full 3 nights of the festival, only). The rooms feature two double bed and occupancy of up to 4 persons is allowed. The above rate is only available when purchasing tickets thru us. If you are interested in upgrading to a larger room or a suite you will be able to do so after purchasing the standard room. You will be credited for the cost of the standard room ($297). Note: All ticket prices include the hotel room cost.

E) MORE BANDS. OK, we’re working on it. But in addition to the 19 artists confirmed on the above poster, we can confirm the original lineup of COME — Thalia Zedek, Chris Brokaw, Sean O’Brien and Arthur Johnson — will be participating. Actually, we already know who some of the other bands are, we’re just trying to drag this out. MORE MATABLOG CONTENT between now and October!

F) Set times - we’ll post these the week before the event.

G) These shows are open to All Ages. However, access to the casino floor is limited to those 21 and over.

H) WHAT ABOUT LAS VEGAS HUMANS? Las Vegas’ Zia Records is selling 50 tickets to “The Lost Weekend” starting Friday, July 9 at noon. You’ll need a Nevada I.D.

If you’ve any questions, 21@matadorrecords.com is the place to go. Thanks.

Holy cats, never mind -- ILU Shearwater, with all of my grubby little music-loving soul, and I would climb mountains and swim seas for you ... but that's just too steep when you're struggling to save for first & last month and deposit and all. ;A;

I'll just have to wait patiently until the tour swings our way again, and keep a keen eye out on youtube. Alas!

I lost my mind on the day the tickets went on sale and bought 2.

I am going, despite the fact that Las Vegas freaks me out. However, the other ticket is now up for grabs.

While there are several folks looking for tickets on the Matador blog pages, I thought I'd post this here just in case anyone would like this spare ticket for the 3 days.

Let me know ASAP if you are so inclined.

Great shots, thanks ya!
Seems like the regular setlist sans encores.
And is it me or is Kim getting sexier by the minute? :D Well at least by every show it seems.

Does anyone know whether there are any plans to rebroadcast this performance on the interweb? Matador's recap of day 3 was unaccountably Shearwater-free.
