Hey guys first time poster long time reader and Shearwater fan here.

Im trying to get Shearwater some radio play here in Australia. Unfortunantly I have never seen them live because there is simply no radio support for them here.

Fortunantly, there is a solution - sorta. Here we have one major Alternative national radiostation - Triple J - and one man programs the music for it - Richard Kingsmill.

He has his own show called 2010 which is the new music show. this show has a website with a guestbook that he reads every post in - kinda like Jonathon and the fan mail.

If you love Shearwater as much as I do then possibly you could help me?

Please go to this link http://www2b.abc.net.au/triplej/2003/guestbook/

And simply leave a message in the guestbook asking if Richard could please play some shearwater on his show.

Thanks for reading and thanks to anyone who can spare 2 mins to help me.

I've heard Shearwater on 3RRR here in Melbourne. But Triple J is definitely the way to go if you want to get heard. It's sad that such a crappy radio station has so much power. They pretty much dictate what's popular here.

With this in mind I sent an email to the station when Palo Santo was released asking them to play it. I got a reply from the programmer saying how much she loved the album, but I don't know if they did. It's a youth-oriented station so they see everything through a '15-24' lens.

I'll go and throw my two cents in now. :D

Hey thanks Kerrie,

Yeah it is a sucky situation, some form of competition would be nice.
but you know - if the fans spread the word enough eventually promoters will bring them over here.

I got an email from Jonathon saying that they wanted to tour here but the costs are too high and without any promoters backing them its just not going to happen.
