Just a quick note on the Hamburg-show: Amazing. Jonathan told me afterwards that it was the best show they've ever played.
They started, surprisingly, with "Landscape At Speed", which worked really really well with the drums as show-intro. "Corridors" - did I ever doubt that song? No more, at least live it is simply astounding.
Plus, we got a little treat in the encore: "Nobody" and as finale "Home Life". Just marvelous. I'm exhausted, off to the Berlin-show tomorrow!

Here's the setlist, more to follow soonish.

1. Landscape At Speed
2. Castaways
3. Meridian
4. Black Eyes
5. Hidden Lakes
6. Corridors
7. White Waves
8. God Made Me
9. Rooks
10. An Insular Life
11. Century Eyes
12. I Was A Cloud
13. Seventy-Four, Seventy-Five
14. Uniforms
---
15. Nobody
16. The Snow Leopard
17. Home Life

Hamburg was definitely a great great gig!!

Even my mates (who are not into music) really liked it.

It is so lovely to see the band enjoying themselves onstage and the new songs are so energetic...

I'm only a little disappointed that there were no pre-Palo Santo songs played, but the setlist was very good anyway.

PS: Kim's guitar strap rules !!!

There are 2 Shearwater songs I'd love to hear live (but never expected them to play) - Nobody and The World in 1984. Jealous.

I did get to hear I can't wait in Colchester last tour - an unexpected bonus.

Nobody fits very well thematically with a fair few of the new songs and their war references.

The Berlin show was excellent though they didn't play "La Dame Et La Licorne" :( But anyway, great great concert. Hope to you see you guys back in Berlin soon.

Really small, way too heated up club, with the best acoustics I've ever heard Shearwater in. Jonathan's vocal blasted through the tube filled with the audience and every instrument was perfectly audible. Minor but important changes to the setlist, "Runners Of The Sun" was added and in the encore we got "Palo Santo" (!?how amazing is that!?). To me that show topped Hamburg yesterday, what an amazing night.
The band was as always so nice and welcoming, we were out to eat with Kim before the show (the Unicorn-app! :D) and everyone was really sweet. Though being backstage still feels like impudently intruding, I just can't shake that feeling. :D

Pictures for both shows are following soon, I can't believe it's all over.

Here's a little short video from David Thomas Broughtons support (featuring Jonathan and Kevin). In Hamburg I thought: Okaaay... that was weird, but good. But yesterday he was really amazing. I don't wanna give away too much, his show is a mixture of performance-art and music, with an amazing voice that reminds me of Antony Hegarty. You should really see him live, you will remember this a long time.
