I left it pretty quiet because I didn't want too much clipping. You might have to turn up those speakers!

I know Shearwater and Okkervil River are sleeping in separate rooms these days, but I couldn't resist a link to "Lost Coastlines" from OR's The Stand-Ins. A damn fine song in its own right, and also enjoyable as an example of how these two voices have developed and diverged to arrive at full strength and maturity. Jonathan's doing something vocally quite different from his Shearwater sound -- it seems to involve listening to Morrissey and undoing a few buttons -- that kind of makes me wish the two bands hadn't officially parted ways. http://musicforants.com/blog/?p=686Bonus: Spot the amusingly clumsy photoshoppery on the accompanying OR promo shot.

Thanks again! Wow, that arrangement of Rooks is stunning (even more so than usual)! You'd think the band was well-rested or something

Just seen this thread and was wondering whether Shearwater have ever indicated whether they are o.k. with people taping the shows? I know lots of bands are o.k. and lots of bands discourage it. As i'll probably catch one of the UK shows and could tape it would be nice to know.
